Yesterday was unbelievably the hottest day of the year 2005. It was the worst New Year’s Eve ever. Woke up at 10, did my ironing, cleaned the room, then it wasn’t until 3.30pm before I had lunch. Then we had a little window shopping after lunch. Went to Melbourne Central, that place was like a huge oven grilling us very slowly. Then when we got out of Melbourne Central, things got worse. Walking on the street felt like doing exercise in a dry sauna room. Gosh, the temperature soared up to 42 degrees at that time. The wind was like blown from a gigantic heater.
Then we had a bad choice of dinner. Schezuan buffet steamboat. Not-so-cold cold drinks. Couldn’t feel the air conditioner too. Luckily it cooled down a bit by the time we finished dinner. Then the rest of the night, pretty predictable. Went to Federation Square, got into the crowd, watched the fireworks. Nothing extraordinary.
Happy New Year 2006 to all of you! May this year bring luck, joy, happiness, and success to everyone of us.
